2nd Annual Back to School Bash |

Thank You For Your Support!

While Attorney Williams has been practicing law for more than 15 years, it is his third year celebrating founding his own firm. To commemorate the occasion, Attorney Williams sponsored the Second Annual Back To School Bash for and at his alma matter, V. Lindsay Seventh-Day Adventist School where we were able to give away nearly 200 free backpacks stuffed with school supplies. We played games, ate good food, had amazing entertainment that led to big prizes, and so much more. Thank you to all that helped to make this event such a success. We appreciate you and hope to see you again - same time next year!

Civil Rights Law

Civil rights are laws put in place to ensure people are kept safe and treated fairly. Unfortunately, not everyone gets the fair treatment that we all deserve. When people or organizations don’t comply with these laws their actions can cause physical and emotional harm. Civil rights attorneys fight to protect people's basic human rights and ensure individuals receive the restitution deserved for unfair treatment.

A little bit about your lawyer.

Stephen R. Wiliams is an experienced trial lawyer that has dedicated his legal expertise to serving his community. Stephen attended Howard University School of Law, where it was instilled in him that attorneys are their gatekeepers of their community. Stephen considers it an honor to fight for the rights of individuals on issues that will ultimately impact the greater society.

After law school, Stephen returned to the Kansas City area, where he worked as a trial attorney with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office. In this role, he zealously defended clients charged with various criminal matters, learned the importance of listening before speaking, and realized that people are more than their current circumstances. Unfortunately, most individuals that Stephen represented in the criminal justice system were young black males. This motivated Stephen’s decision to join the Kansas City Public School as an attorney. While with the KCPS, Stephen served as a staff attorney, lead litigator, and general counsel. From his time with KCPS Stephen is most proud of the successful trial results that he was able to achieve on behalf of KCPS as well as Co-creating “Justice in the Schools' - a school-based legal clinic that offers free legal services to students and parents. Prior to starting his own firm, Stephen served as of-counsel with a midsized firm in Kansas City.

Stephen’s passions are spending time with his wife Shannon and kids, Luke and Logan, serving as the community service leader for his church, mentoring young adults, and all things outdoors.
